Portrait Holger Heiten

Holger Heiten

*1966, father of two children, BA Social Work (Germany) and experienced Psychotherapist/Gestalt Therapist, has trained to guide Vision Quests with the School of Lost Borders in California with Steven Foster & Meredith Little and with Verena & Haiko Nitschke in Germany.

He offers workshops and trainings on modern rites of passage, such as Vision Quests and seminars on related subjects, such as “the Four Shields of human nature” and the “Way of Council”, all over Europe.

Holger is cofounder and head of the Eschwege Institute and its training academy “Campus Peregrini” in Germany. He is  cofounder of the German non-profit organization “council for initiation and process mentoring” (AIP e.V.), which is an interdisciplinary, internationally acting and researching group of professionals who work with youth in life transition phases, in different fields.

He is a council trainer in the tradition of the Ojai Foundation and has trained in the Mentorship of Marlow Hotchkiss. Together with a faculty of international teachers, he trains Vision Quest- and Change Process Guides, since 2003 and Council facilitators, since 2011.

Gesa Heiten

*1966, mother of two children, Dipl. Psychologist, trained to guide Vision Quests with the School of Lost Borders in California with Steven Foster & Meredith Little and with Verena & Haiko Nitschke in Germany. Gesa Heiten is a manager and international leadership trainer. Beside her work in the Eschwege Institute, she is a process moderator, counsellor and coach in personal and organisational development. Since 2001 she works together with Holger Heiten.

Both are members of all major Networks in this field. Together they founded Business Quest Network, an international network of leadership trainers and change process moderators that work within the field of sustainable and resilient management and with rite of passage tools.

Hendrik Hadlich

* 1977, studied political science, history and philosophy. Ropes Course Trainer (ERCA), Change Process Guide and Vision Quest Guide, trained with Holger & Gesa Heiten (Eschwege Institut), in the tradition of the School of lost Borders.

He is a Outdoor Education Pedagogue (AGJF Sachsen) and chair of the non-profit organisation Walden e.V. as well as initiator of many projects with youth and adults at schools. Together with his partner Karina Falke, he developed a special form of Walk a Way that meets the needs of youth in a very profound way.

*1977, mother of two teenagers, social work student, Vision Quest Guide, trained with Sylvia Koch-Weser in the tradition of the School of lost Borders, Ropes Course Trainer (ERCA), Circus pedagogue (Pyrocatharsis e.V.), Non-medical BE Practitioneer for Psychotherapy, Walden e.V.

Dr. R. „Kunga“ Lacoste

„Kunga“, born in the mid 1940′s in New Orleans/ USA, is presently learning what it means to be a new grandfather. Retirement in 2011 from a colorful and varied career in education, ministry, government and business has opened space for new learning and new venues within which to offer the harvest from these experiences to others. Looking back on this life resembles for him the patterns of light and shadow on the forest floor. The richness of things dark and full of decay and the emergence from this of bright new potential and renewed life.

Katrin Lüth

*1973, mother of a little boy, Magistra artium, is as a free-lance trainer and facilitator of learning, supporting personal, group and team development, intercultural learning. She works with schools, NGOs, families, networks, mostly in non-formal education.

Her partners are the Austrian National Agency of the EU program Erasmus+, the Learning Partnership for Creative Sustainability, aces – The Academy of Central European Schools and others. She trains outdoor trainers and educators in the field of non-formal education in Austria and elsewhere.

Council has become a central part of her work and practice over the last years. She has sat in Council circles with children, adolescents and adults, in small and large groups,  indoors and outdoors, in Austria and all over Europe.
